Based on the memoirs of Elliot Tiber, Taking Woodstock brings to life the story of the audacious teen that inadvertently played a role in making 1969’s Woodstock Music and Arts Festival into the famed happening it was. Featuring a standout ensemble cast, and songs from a score of ‘60s musical icons including The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, and Country Joe and the Fish, Taking Woodstock is a joyous voyage to a moment in time when everything seemed possible. Taking Woodstock opens August 13, which just so happens to be the 40th anniversary of Woodstock.

I watched Less Than Zero again the other day. Aside from vintage James Spader (total crush object) the star of the film, for me, is Robert Downey Jnr’s studded sandals. They should have totally been credited as a supporting cast member. HELLO! The tap dancing scene?!! Anyway that’s why I’m completely in love with Alber Elbaz’s footwear for Lanvin menswear SS10. It’s all about the man sandal with a dress sock. If someone can pull this off I want to meet you…

A scene extracted from “Nowhere” (1997), a Gregg Akari movie in his Teenage Apocalypse trilogy. Gotta love Shannon, Rose and James Duval…and that Bevereley Hills on acid look!

Sometimes I wish I could be a bit more like Wendy…

Ps. I love you Trevor and Dennis xx

Woody Allen + Larry David… PLEASE let this be good!

More fashion on film… this is by artist and filmmaker Meredith Danluck for Adam Kimmel SS10. Kimmel has been fascinated with Americana of late, teaming up with Factory alum Gerard Malanga to create screen tests for his AW09 lookbook.
RUSSH talks to Adam Kimmel in the July/August issue, on sale now.

More and more designers are using film to express their vision. Here’s one of my favourites directed by Samuel Benchetrit for YSL Homme SS10.
